چکیده
The use of date palm fibres, which are an abundant by-product agriculture, as natural reinforcement in polypropylene (PP) was studied. Because odour emissions one the major challenges for fibre-based composites, emission Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) generated at different processing steps analysed online. severest degradation on fibre morphology observed injection moulding step, but even when occurred fibres were effective PP and increased Young's modulus significantly. Generation odorous compounds caused by thermal such furfural alcohol or methyl astonishingly low during twin-screw extrusion granulation process. In coherence with evolution morphology, most critical step conclusion, a promising production composites. Adapted conditions allow minimizing VOC emissions, particular attention needs to be given optimization

Rheological Behaviour of Injection Moulded Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch Fibre – Polypropylene Composites: Effects of Electron Beam Processing Versus Maleated
In this study, oil palm empty fruit bunch fibres (EFB) reinforced polypropylene (PP) composites were prepared by two different methods i.e. physical treatment of the composites using electron beam irradiation and chemical treatment by adding coupling agent such as maleated PP. The composites pellets were then subjected to injection moulding for preparation of test pieces for physical, mechanica...
متن کاملOil-Palm-Fibre Reinforced Phenolformaldehyde Composites
Thermophysical properties such as, effective thermal conductivity (A,,) and effective thermal diffusivity (Xc) of untreated reinforced phenol formaldehyde with different weight per centages of oil-palmfibre (x) are measured simultaneously using the transient plane source (TPS) technique between 80 to 120"C. The composites investigated contain 20, 30 and 50 weight per centage of oil-palm-fibre. ...
متن کاملProperties of Polypropylene Composites Fabricated Using Twin-screw Extrusion
Sunflower hull sanding dust (SHSD) filled polypropylene (PP) composite was prepared using a twin-screw extruder. Mechanical and thermal properties of the SHSD/PP composite were characterized contrasting to organically modified clay /PP composite. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis showed that the crystallization temperature and the degree of crystallinity of PP exhibited changes w...
متن کاملExperimental study and modelling of date palm fibre composite acoustic behaviour using differential evolution algorithm
Background and aims: In recent years, in most countries of the world, the provision of a calming environment without disturbing noise has become a need, which has subsequently led to significant growth in noise control techniques. It is now well documented that prolonged over-exposure to the excessive levels of environmental noise not only induces disabling hearing impairment but also contribut...
متن کاملCharacterization of Laccase-Treated Kenaf Fibre Reinforced Recycled Polypropylene Composites
Raw and laccase-treated kenaf fibre (KF) were used individually to reinforce recycled polypropylene (RPP) using extrusion and injection moulding. Laccase was used to modify the surface of the fibre to improve the compatibility between fibre and matrix. Enzyme concentration and soaking time were considered as the treatment parameters. Maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene (MAPP) was used with a...
